WUI (Writing under the influence)

Somebody once said we are all Americans, sometimes born in the wrong places.
On a warm autumn day in 1986, while enjoying beer with my college buddies,
I decided to join my new homeland.

I've come to appreciate the ideals that helped create this great country.
Liberalism, political-correctness, multiculturalism and moral equivalence
are destroying it.

'08 Bumper Stickers

I'm seeing a lot of bumper stickers proclaiming support for some of the Democrat presidential candidates. The one that makes me lough is the Gore for President sticker. Some people still live in denial. Not because Gore has not declared himself a candidate but because he couldn't possibly win.

At this point I still think Romney would be the best Republican candidate but I'm willing to wait. If I had to affix a bumper sticker to my car today it would say:

ABAD08

Anybody But A Democrat for '08

BTW, I saw a Prius with a Obama for President sticker today and license plate SAV OIL. This really makes me want to just go out and buy the biggest SUV there is instead of waiting for a couple more months for a better deal. But as soon as I have one, it will sport the following sticker on its bumper:

My SUV is greener than your Prius

Which happens to be a fact.

This post just goes to show how close-minded you are. Typical former Russian influences always needing that authoritarian government. Go Home Immigrant!

I wouldn't recommend putting that bumper sticker on Hummer. Liberals don't seem to have much of a sense of humor and they also probably don't know of the "Green" comparison that you are referring to.
A young man in Washington D.C. found out how accepting the econazis are when he parked his Hummer on the street for a few days.
From the Washington Post.com
It lasted five days on the street before two masked men took a bat to every window, a knife to each 38-inch tire and scratched into the body. "FOR THE ENVIRON."

Anonymouse: what the hell are you talking about?

Ah yes - for those who don't know, the "green comparison" compares the per-mile cost of a Prius versus a Hummer.

What that studygets wrong is, they computed the Prius with an expected lifetime of 109,000 miles, versus 400,000 for the Hummer. Big bias. Little Japanese cars usually go a quarter mil before being put to pasture. Got to wonder about the guzzling Hummer making it to the first 100K.

In other words, the "green comparison" was a crock a shite.
