WUI (Writing under the influence)

Somebody once said we are all Americans, sometimes born in the wrong places.
On a warm autumn day in 1986, while enjoying beer with my college buddies,
I decided to join my new homeland.

I've come to appreciate the ideals that helped create this great country.
Liberalism, political-correctness, multiculturalism and moral equivalence
are destroying it.

Definition of irony

Polish foreign minister Radosław Sikorski has written to US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton for her support on the case of the Polish-born filmmaker Roman Polanski.

Under the law, sponsored by Poland’s centre-right government, pedophiles convicted of raping children under the age of 15 years or a close relative would have to undergo chemical therapy on their release from prison.

UPDATE: What if he were a catholic priest? Anybody would defend him?

Quote of the day

It's time for conservatives--mainstream Americans, in other words--to throw off the shackles and get aggressive. Our beliefs are correct, our values are the foundation of any society that doesn't have a death wish, and our interests, unlike those of the leftists, are legitimate. We deserve to govern this country, and before long, we will.

Indeed.

You lie!

And if you think I'm a racist, I have this quote of the day for you:
Accusations of racism are the last refuge of the liberal scoundrel.

Those stupid Polaks

Well, well, well. Polish people don't think Obama is cool. They used to be known as parrots of Europe. Now they have the courage to be thinking somewhat more independently.
The percentage of Poles who declare they support Obama's foreign policy "very much" is the lowest in among all 12 European countries surveyed in the latest research by German Marshall Fund, writes Gazeta Prawna daily.

While in the Western Europe the trust in US President and the way the US is handling international affairs is on the rise, in the central Europe the increase of support for Barrack Obama is very light.

I'm not surprised. They know what appeasement can get you.

President Bush, we miss you.

Joe Wilson

I contributed $35 to Joe Wilson today. He shouldn't have apologized. Obama lies. Democrats lie.

Today's Drudge...

...looks like America's Most wanted page.

For the record

As Van Jones said, "Union members are assholes." This day is for me what Christmas is for an atheist. Furthermore, I have no respect for you whatsoever. You suck. Especially if you work for the government.

Why are conservatives so upset about Obama speaking to public school children?

They wanted God back in schools. They got it!

Possibly the greatest headline ever

Barack Obama accused of making 'Depression' mistakes
In this simple headline, Telegraph perfectly condenses the truth about FDR and Obama.

The sub headline reiterates the basic point and adds the required authority.
Barack Obama is committing the same mistakes made by policymakers during the Great Depression, according to a new study endorsed by Nobel laureate James Buchanan.

The only correction I'd add would be to point out that by now all sane people should know that FDR was winging it and was, on one hand, completely clueless about economics but on the other hand, his polices were designed to enslave people by making them dependent on the government thus assuring that Democrats would forever stay in power.

There is a chance that Obama knows his destroying the markets but he's doing this on purpose.

So called "green jobs" should follow

Obama 'green jobs' adviser quits amid controversy

I think that people who agree with him on this one issue, agree with him on all issues. They are all deranged.

Quote of the day

Illegal immigrants are destroying our country. Worse yet, most legal immigrants are destroying this country. It turns out that unless we give out green cars to college graduates instead of anybody who just wants to come here, we are doomed.

Milton Friedman once said that unrestrained immigration and the welfare state do not mix. Must we wait until California catches up with Mexico to realize how right he was?

(BTW, the picture below that's raw meat and egg. This is a great country. But not being able to go to the local bar to order a steak tartar is a shame.)

What also is a shame, is my inability to convince people around me that this country is on the path to another failed totalitarian state. If you don't believe me, please believe this lady.

The government-assigned salary of the proletariat (blue-collar worker) was 30%-50% higher then any professional. Without incentive to improve their life, professionals drank themselves to oblivion. They — engineers, lawyers, doctors, teachers — earned a government-determined salary that barely covered the necessities, mainly food.

In the USSR, economic equality was achieved by redistributing wealth, ensuring that everyone remained poor, with the exception of those doing the redistributing. Only the ruling class of communist leaders had access to special stores, medicine and accommodations that could compare to those in the West.

There is no perfect society. There are no perfect people. Critics say that greed is the driving force of capitalism.
My answer is that envy is the driving force of socialism.

When I came to America in 1980 and experienced life in this country, I thought it was fortunate that those living in the USSR did not know how unfortunate they were.
[...]
Now in 2009, I realize how unfortunate it is that many Americans do not understand how fortunate they are. They vote to give government more and more power without understanding the consequences.
