WUI (Writing under the influence)

Somebody once said we are all Americans, sometimes born in the wrong places.
On a warm autumn day in 1986, while enjoying beer with my college buddies,
I decided to join my new homeland.

I've come to appreciate the ideals that helped create this great country.
Liberalism, political-correctness, multiculturalism and moral equivalence
are destroying it.

Do we really want US to be more like Europe?

Of course not but it may be too late.  This sounds so familiar:
In Europe, immigrants are political tools of the Left. The rapid influx of vast numbers of unassimilated, uneducated, poor, and often illegal newcomers may violate every rule of successful immigration policy. Yet the onrush does serve the purposes of the statist, who demagogues for an instantaneous equality of result. Bloc voters, constituents of bigger government, needy recipients of state largesse, and perennial whiners about inequality are all fodder for European multicultural leftists, who always seek arguments for more of themselves.
So unassimilated poor immigrants from the former Third World become easy proof that inequality and unfairness are still here and must be addressed with someone else’s money — as if France has failed because it did not make an immigrant born in Algeria a good French socialist restaurant owner in 20 years.
The same phenomenon is with us in the United States. Without open borders, the Democrats would have had to explain to Americans how and why more taxes, larger government, more subsidies, less personal freedom, racial separatism, ethnic chauvinism, and a smaller military make them more prosperous and secure. Yet importing the poor and the uneducated expands the Democratic constituency. The Democrats logically fear measured, meritocratic, and racially and religiously blind legal immigration of those who want to come to America to seek freedom from statism. If a poor Oaxacan, who crossed into the U.S. three years ago — without education, legality, or knowledge of English — does not have a good car, adequate living space, and federalized health care, then the Koch brothers, Wall Street, Fox News, or the Chamber of Commerce — fill in the blank — is to blame, and legions of progressives are available to be hired out to redress such social injustice.
And lastly:

As a general rule, whatever Europe is now doing, we should do the opposite...

Polish President not to meet President Obama on U.S. visit
US President Barack Obama declined to meet with Polish President Andrzej Duda during Duda's visit to the U.S., despite last minute efforts by Polish diplomats, Polish media report.
President Duda will start Wednesday a three-day visit to the U.S. capital where will attend a Nuclear Security Summit, according to an itinerary published on the presidential website www.president.pl.
On Wednesday, President Duda will meet with experts and representatives of university circles at the National Press Club organized by the Centre for European Policy Analysis and the Atlantic Council.
On Thursday, the president will visit the U.S. Congress Library and lay a wreath at the monument to Tadeusz Kosciuszko, a national hero of Poland and the U.S.
On Friday, President Duda will attend the Nuclear Security Summit. On the sidelines of the summit he is expected to meet with the presidents of Turkey, Ukraine and Georgia.
Presidential Minister Krzysztof Szczerski has told PAP Polish news agency that one of the main goals of President Duda's visit to Washington is the participation in a meeting of several dozen state leaders and in a debate on the military and civilian aspects of nuclear security.
President Duda will also meet with the US media at the German Marshall Fund. "This will be a specially selected group of people dealing with international affairs," Szczerski said.
The Polish president will also meet with people of influence in Washington and present Polish point of view on international security issues, as well as discuss the country's expectations towards the NATO summit to be held in Warsaw in July, Szczerski said.
The only significant US politician to meet with Duda will be a congressman from New Jersey, which is a sign that the Washington establishment decided to send a strong signal of disapproval of the Polish constitutional crisis, Polish dailies write.

Poland has declined to accept any refugees from Syria and other people of Muslim origins.  Poland is one of the few European countries whose economy is growing despite the lack of multiculturalism proving that "multiculturalism is required in 21st century to grow" is bogus.   Poland's last election eliminated any remaining socialists from the congress.  Poland has two major parties and both of them are right-wingers. Poland despises Russia and Germany and loves Reagan, Thatcher and JPII.

Coexist? Why not! Happy Easter to my Musli brothers!

Muslim shopkeeper murdered in suspected 'religiously prejudiced' attack after posting on Facebook of love for Christians

A popular shopkeeper was stabbed to death by another Muslim in a "religiously prejudiced" attack hours after posting an Easter message on Facebook to "my beloved Christian nation".
Asad Shah, 40, a devout Muslim originally from the Pakistani city of Rabwah, had his head stamped on during a savage attack, according to one eyewitness.

It's good news in a sense because there is was at least one Muslim who wanted to "coexist."  But for each one who do, there are at least two who don't.  I suspect the number is much more lopsided.
