WUI (Writing under the influence)

Somebody once said we are all Americans, sometimes born in the wrong places.
On a warm autumn day in 1986, while enjoying beer with my college buddies,
I decided to join my new homeland.

I've come to appreciate the ideals that helped create this great country.
Liberalism, political-correctness, multiculturalism and moral equivalence
are destroying it.

PO deputy arrested after taking bribe money

A little-known Civic Platform (PO) deputy was arrested on Poland's seaside on Monday evening with a bag full of bribe money, according to the Central Anti-corruption Bureau (CBA).Both Beata Sawicka and the mayor of the Hel penninsula Miroslaw W. were arrested for taking a PLN 250,000 bribe for promising to fix a public auction for a land deal on the penninsula.According to the CBA, Sawicka spent part of the first half of 2007 looking for businessmen interested in investing in the Hel penninsula.Sawicka had her PO party membership revoked on Tuesday and will no longer be campaiging for the party.Time will tell how much damage this incident does to the PO's election campaign. The ruling PiS, which is running on a platform of fighting corruption, said the arrest's timing was a mere coincidence and has nothing to do with ongoing election campaign.

Comments:
We should send them Randall "Duke" Cunningham, Katherine Harris, Bob Ney, and Alberto Gonzalez, who will have some time on their hands, to teach them about honest government. Mark Foley can be the new Minister of Morals. These are all good upstanding conservatives, right?

(The point here is to show that your arguments are based on fallacies which can be used by anyone to "prove" a point. In fact, your entire political philosophy feels like a hasty generalization.)

I wasn't saying Republicans are honest and Democrats are not. Although, if we start keeping score, Democrats would probably win. One generalization I like is this: power corupts so make the government as small as possible and as little responsible for our lives as possible. For example, federal government should be only responsible for national defense, regulating commerce (and I mean commerce) and not much more.

My observation in this post is that the news outlets show their biases not only by selecting what stories to print but how these stories are presented. Like taking Rush Limbaugh out of context and saying about him the opposite of what he has demonstrated over the years. But this is so typical. In my mind, one should be judges by his actions. In Liberals’ minds, words speak louder than actions. This is why they like to talk, they like the process, but they never deliver. Except for raising taxes, ruining economy and making us less safe.

So tell me why I should be anything but a Republican.

You should think for yourself.

Who are you going to believe about global climate change, a politician or a respected scientific journal like Scientific American? Who are you going to believe about the economy, a Jeannine Garofalo or the Wall Street Journal?

If your opinion forming is simply "I believe only the Republicans", and no amount of evidence will dissuade you, then you are easily manipulated.

As for Rush, he used to say drug dealers should be executed. Turns out he's a drug addict. No problem there - I know many good people who have had that problem in their lives. You gotta admit, though, it's a funny story.
